When to seek care

If an animal has difficulty breathing, collapses, has uncontrolled bleeding, severe trauma, repeated seizures, suspected toxin exposure, marked weakness, a prolonged inability to eat, or another rapidly worsening problem, contact an appropriate veterinarian or emergency service promptly.

Species matters

Medication doses, temperatures, diets and treatment plans vary substantially between species. Never apply a recommendation written for one animal to another without professional guidance.
